Highlights of Hope 2024 – June 13th, 2024
On June 13th, 2024, New Hope awarded three organizations for their support in the mission to creating communities free from violence and exploitation. Alongside these awards, New Hope introduced a new award in honor of the 45th Anniversary of the non-profit. The “Edith Palmer” Award was created inspired by New Hope, Inc. founder, Edith Palmer. Edith Palmer’s four children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild traveled from around the country to soak up the appreciation for stories of the legacy created by their ancestor when she founded New Hope, Inc. in 1979.
DaishaDore Famouz and Victoria Obvious were the Emcees of the night, entertaining a crowd of nearly 150 people and reminding everyone that sexual and domestic violence does not discriminate based on age, race, citizenship, disability, gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Diana Mancera, CEO & President of New Hope, summed up the true value of Highlights of Hope, “This event is our opportunity to celebrate New Hope’s longevity, myriad achievements, the people who work here, those who came before us, the community who has supported us, and the survivors who have entrusted us with their stories, their dreams, and their hopes for a safer tomorrow.”
